ProVia doesn’t publish a single document that covers every window and door it sells, so what your warranty says depends on which card came with your purchase. The cards governing windows (Aeris/Endure/Aspect vs ecoLite), entry doors (Signet/Ascent/Legacy 20-gauge vs 24-gauge steel/Vantage fiberglass), and coastal homes are separate — with different durations, remedies and limits. This guide walks through each one as currently published by ProVia, how registration and transfer actually work, who to call when something goes wrong, and the two labelling ambiguities buyers should ask about before relying on them. ProVia’s own warranty portal is at provia.com/warranty; the links below point to each current card.
Quick answer
ProVia’s main window and entry-door warranties are “lifetime limited” — but only while the original buyer owns and lives in the single-family home where the product was installed. On the cards that spell it out (the joint Aeris/Endure/Aspect vinyl card and the 8/25/26 entry-door card for Signet, Ascent and Legacy 20-gauge), the basic unit transfers once to a subsequent owner if you complete the online transfer form within 30 days. The 24-gauge steel and Vantage fiberglass doors carry a 20-year limited warranty, not lifetime, and the ecoLite window card’s title says “transferable” but no transfer clause appears in the terms — more on both below.
ProVia supplies parts; the purchaser pays labor to install the replacement and transport from the nearest authorized dealer, with one narrower exception for accidental glass breakage on Super Spacer insulated glass units. Across every card, your first call isn’t ProVia — it’s whoever sold or installed the product.
Which card applies to you?
Use these five questions to find the governing card before you cite any coverage term:
- Product type. Window or vinyl patio door → one of the two vinyl cards. Entry door → one of the two entry-door cards. Storm doors have their own card and are not covered on this page.
- Line. For windows and vinyl patio doors: Aeris, Endure and Aspect share a single joint card; ecoLite is on a separate card. For entry doors: Signet, Ascent and Legacy 20-gauge steel are on the current 8/25/26 card; the 24-gauge steel line and Vantage fiberglass are on the older 11/28/23 card.
- Purchase and installation date. The warranty card delivered with your purchase governs. Current card versions are listed in the Sources section with their revision dates.
- How the home is used. Single-family, owner-occupied use gets the full terms. Rental, multi-family and other non-residential buildings are covered under shorter non-residential terms on every card.
- Coastal location. ProVia defines “coastal” by ZIP; the Coastal Warranty page has the map and ZIP search. In a coastal ZIP, specific hardware and finish terms are shortened.
Two labelling notes to flag before you go further:
- Embarq and Heritage entry doors. ProVia’s Warranty page labels its current entry-door download “Embarq, Signet, Heritage, Ascent, Legacy,” but the card itself only names Signet, Ascent and Legacy 20-gauge in its terms. If you own an Embarq or Heritage system, the warranty that applies is the card that was delivered with your purchase; confirm with your dealer or ProVia which document governs. Our ProVia entry-door quote decoder documents the same mismatch.
- ecoLite transfer. The ecoLite card’s cover reads “Lifetime Limited Transferable Warranty” and directs buyers to register/transfer at provia.com/warranty, but the body of the card has no transfer clause and the basic-unit header reads “LIFETIME” rather than “LIFETIME TRANSFERABLE.” Before relying on transferability as a selling point, confirm the rule with ProVia through the warranty transfer page.
Vinyl windows and patio doors: Aeris, Endure, Aspect vs ecoLite
Both the joint Aeris/Endure/Aspect card and the ecoLite card describe “lifetime limited” basic-unit coverage, but the specifics diverge from there. Below are the current terms as written on each card.
| Coverage | Aeris / Endure / Aspect | ecoLite | Remedy & labor | Main limits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic unit (rigid vinyl) | Lifetime, transferable once. Covers rigid vinyl and factory-applied wood components (not factory-installed jamb extensions) against chipping, cracking, peeling, pitting, blistering, warping and delamination. | Lifetime (no “transferable” wording in the terms). Covers rigid vinyl against chipping, cracking, peeling, pitting, blistering and warping. No wood-component clause. | ProVia, at its option, repairs or supplies a replacement product or part; the purchaser pays “any and all labor necessary to install such product or part” and transport from the nearest authorized dealer. | Original consumer purchaser, normal use, for as long as the purchaser owns and lives in the single-family home where installed. |
| Factory paint on vinyl | 15 years from installation. Non-uniform fading from unequal sun exposure not covered. | Not addressed as a separate line. | Part-only remedy; labor on purchaser. | Weathering and uniform fading excluded. |
| Interior wood finish (factory paint/stain) | 10 years. Condensation damage and normal wear not covered. | 10 years. Condensation damage and normal wear not covered. | Part-only remedy; labor on purchaser. | Non-factory finishes, tints and films excluded. |
| Hardware (balances, locks, etc.) | Lifetime, original purchaser. | Lifetime, original purchaser. | Replacement part supplied; labor on purchaser. | — |
| Patio-door handle finish | Bright Brass, Satin Nickel, Aged Bronze: lifetime against tarnish. Painted / Flat Bronze / Modern Bronze / Antique Brass: 1 year. | Painted finishes: 1 year. | Part-only remedy. | Finish terms are original-purchaser terms. |
| Insulated glass seal | Lifetime against seal failure (defined on the card as film between interior glass surfaces), Super Spacer units, to Fed Spec 1036-90 tolerances. | 20 years against seal failure, Flexible Foam spacer units. | Replacement IG supplied; labor on purchaser. | No IG warranty after immersion; weathering excluded. |
| Glass breakage | Lifetime on Super Spacer IGUs in two situations: (1) a break caused by a manufacturing defect “in a properly registered and warranty covered unit”; (2) an accident in the home not covered by insurance or within the deductible — ProVia “will replace the glass free of charge.” Not available on IGUs with internal blinds, not available on Garden windows. | 1 year from installation. The card’s conditions say no coverage for glass breakage “except as expressly warranted.” | Super Spacer accidental-breakage clause says the glass is replaced free of charge; the card does not spell out labor for that specific case. All other remedies follow the standard part-only rule. | Excluded: breakage from fire, lightning, windstorm, wind-borne objects, building movement and acts of God. |
| Internal blinds | 10 years. | Not addressed. | Part-only remedy. | IGU breakage warranty does not apply to units with internal blinds. |
| Screens | Lifetime (rot, stain, rust); FlexScreens lifetime. Torn mesh excluded. | Lifetime (rot, stain, rust). | Part-only remedy. | Torn mesh excluded. |
| Bay, bow and garden windows | Frames and roof kits 10 years. Garden windows not available in Aeris. | Not addressed. | Part-only remedy. | — |
| Non-residential / multi-family | Basic unit 5 years (non-transferable), hardware 1 year, IG 10 years (no breakage), blinds 5 years, screens 5 years, finishes 1 year. | Basic unit 5 years (non-transferable), hardware 1 year, IG 10 years (no breakage), screens 5 years, finishes 1 year. | Part-only remedy; labor on purchaser. | Transfer not available on non-residential terms. |
| Coastal | Non-stainless hardware in casement and patio-door units: 5-year mechanical. Brass/nickel patio-door handles: 10-year finish. | Non-stainless patio-door hardware: 5-year mechanical. | Part-only remedy. | Coastal ZIP look-up at provia.com/coastalwarranty. |
| Transfer | Basic unit only, to one subsequent purchaser for their personal residence, completed online within 30 days after transfer of ownership. No fee stated on the card. | Card title says “Lifetime Limited Transferable” but no transfer clause appears in the body. Confirm with ProVia before relying on it. | Not applicable. | Hardware, IG, breakage and finish terms are original-purchaser terms and do not transfer. |

The joint card groups Aeris, Endure and Aspect because the current governing document itself groups them — one card, identical terms. The only line-specific statement on the card is that Garden windows are not available in the Aeris series. Older documents that circulated separately for Aeris (the 2021 Aeris-only card and the 12/1/2023 revision of the joint card) have been superseded; the current card is what applies.

Entry doors: Signet / Ascent / Legacy 20-gauge vs 24-gauge steel / Vantage fiberglass
ProVia’s current entry-door line-up has two cards. One covers the premium lines (Signet fiberglass, Ascent fiberglass, Legacy 20-gauge steel) with lifetime terms; the other covers the 24-gauge steel line and Vantage fiberglass with 20-year limited terms. Coastal is a condition row rather than a separate card.
| Coverage | Signet / Ascent / Legacy 20-gauge | 24-Gauge Steel / Vantage Fiberglass | Main limits & conditions | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic door and sidelite | Lifetime, transferable once. Covers shrinking, warping, splitting, cracking and delamination. | 20 years, original purchaser. No transfer clause in the card text. | Conditions on both cards: installed without alteration (brickmold trimming allowed), primed slabs finished with high-quality exterior paint or stain within 90 days of installation, installed per building codes. | |
| Insulated glass | ComforTech Warm Edge Super Spacer units — including most decorative, art and privacy glass, DC, DLA, TLA, TLK — lifetime, including glass breakage and seal failure. White internal blinds 20 years, colored blinds 10 years (no breakage on blinds units). Non-Super-Spacer units: 10 years seal and defects. | 10 years. Internal blinds: white 20 years, colored 10 years. Glass breakage not covered. | Breakage from fire, acts of God and non-factory modifications excluded on both cards. | |
| Frames — FrameSaver | Composite part: lifetime. Wood components: lifetime only when all exposed wood is protected by aluminum frame cladding installed and caulked per ProVia; otherwise limited to 2 years for inswing frames protected by paint/stain only, and for outswing frames. Threshold, sweep, hinges, weatherstrip, astragals, cladding, mull slide bolts, sliding patio screen: 5 years. Venting sidelite retractable screen: 15 years. LightEn in-frame light: 1 year. | Similar FrameSaver component terms; full wood frame 3 years (1 year if inswing paint-only or outswing). Window trim 5 years. | Full wood frame exterior stain: 90 days on the premium card. | |
| Frames — PermaTech | Composite frame: lifetime. Conditions: installed and caulked per ProVia’s instructions, no storm door in the same opening, exterior paint LRV ≥ 57. | Comparable PermaTech terms per that card’s text. | A storm door in the same opening voids the PermaTech lifetime term. | |
| Frames — FusionFrame | Composite frame: lifetime, subject to the card’s conditions. | Comparable FusionFrame terms per that card’s text. | Steel L-frame and its components: 5 years on the premium card. | |
| Finishes | Signet factory paint/stain/glaze: 15 years. Legacy and Ascent: 10 years. Full wood frame exterior stain: 90 days. | Shorter finish terms per card. | Non-factory finishes and after-sale paint/stain are excluded. | |
| Hardware | Lifetime-finish Schlage/Emtek/Hoppe and similar: lifetime against tarnish and mechanical failure. Schlage electronic: 3 years electronic. Trilennium multipoint: tarnish lifetime, mechanical 10 years. Accessories: 5 years. | Comparable per card, with shorter terms. | Pet doors 3 / 1 years (mechanical / finish). | |
| Window trim | Signet: 15 years. Ascent / Legacy: 10 years. | 5 years. | — | |
| Non-residential | Basic door 5 years (non-transferable); clear glass 10 years (no breakage); other items shorter. | Most items 1 year. | Transfer not available. | |
| Coastal | Listed hardware and accessories: 5-year finish. Coastal page lists these items plus “Decorative Long Trim Handles.” | Similar coastal shortening on hardware. | Coastal ZIP look-up at provia.com/coastalwarranty. | |
| Transfer | Basic door and sidelite only, to one subsequent purchaser, online within 30 days after ownership transfer. No fee stated. | No transfer clause in the card text. Confirm with ProVia before relying on transferability. | Transferred coverage is limited to the basic door and sidelite; other terms stay with the original purchaser. | |

Two notes buyers should raise before signing:
- The 8/25/26 card’s title includes “Patio Doors,” but it does not specify which patio doors it means. Vinyl patio doors in the Aeris, Endure, Aspect and ecoLite lines are covered by the vinyl cards above — not this card.
- Embarq and Heritage. ProVia’s Warranty page labels the current entry-door PDF “Embarq, Signet, Heritage, Ascent, Legacy,” yet the 8/25/26 card text names only Signet, Ascent and Legacy 20-gauge. For Embarq and Heritage owners, the governing document is the card delivered with the purchase; confirm with the place of purchase or ProVia which card applies. Our entry-door quote decoder flags the same mismatch.
Storm doors are covered by a separate ProVia card and are not addressed on this page. For a broader view of what “lifetime” means across the door category, see Door Warranties Explained.
Registration vs transfer: what each one does
The two are often confused. Registration is a record of where and when the product was installed; transfer moves part of the warranty to the next homeowner.
Registration. You register online at provia.com/warranty. The joint vinyl card says in plain terms that “failure to fill out the online warranty registration form will not affect your rights” if you can show the date of purchase and the location of the installation (purchase receipt plus installer contract listing the install address). Register anyway, for two reasons: coverage extends only to units installed in the home “as recorded on the warranty registration” and is not enforceable if you cannot prove where the units were installed; and the joint card’s manufacturing-defect glass-breakage clause refers to a “properly registered and warranty covered unit,” so the defect-breakage remedy is narrower if the unit was never registered.
Transfer. On the cards that spell it out — the joint Aeris/Endure/Aspect card and the 8/25/26 entry-door card for Signet, Ascent and Legacy 20-gauge — transfer is limited to the basic unit (basic door and sidelite for entry doors), to one subsequent purchaser for their personal residence, completed online at provia.com/warranty/transfer-warranty within 30 days after ownership transfer. No transfer fee is stated on either card. Hardware, insulated glass, glass breakage, finishes and screens are original-purchaser terms and do not transfer.
The ecoLite card is ambiguous on this — see the labelling note above. The 24-gauge steel and Vantage fiberglass card has no transfer clause in the text today; do not claim transferability for those lines without written confirmation from ProVia.
Product defect vs installation workmanship
Every ProVia card excludes damage from improper installation and states that dealers and installers cannot extend ProVia’s warranty on ProVia’s behalf. In practice, that splits a claim into two paths that it helps to keep separate:
- ProVia’s warranty covers the product — the vinyl, the glass, the hardware, the frame, the finish — within the terms above.
- The installer’s workmanship warranty covers how the product was fitted — flashing, shimming, caulk joints, trim, insulation around the frame, water management at the sill. The installer’s written warranty, if any, is a separate document; ask for it in writing before work starts and keep it with your purchase papers.
On labor, the cards are explicit: ProVia supplies the replacement part, and “the purchaser must pay for any and all labor necessary to install such product or part and for the transportation from the nearest authorized dealer.” The one case the joint vinyl card treats differently is accidental glass breakage on Super Spacer insulated glass units — the card says ProVia “will replace the glass free of charge” without separately spelling out labor for that case. Removal, interior and exterior refinishing after a part swap, and service-call travel are not addressed separately on the cards; ask the installer, in writing, how those are handled before work begins.
If condensation is what you’re troubleshooting rather than a sealed-unit failure, our page on fog between window panes walks through the difference.
Claim checklist: what the cards require, and editorial tips
The requirements below come straight from the cards and ProVia’s online complaint policy. The second block is editorial tips, labelled as such — things that make a claim smoother in practice, not official requirements.
Required by the cards and ProVia’s online forms:
- A copy of the warranty certificate.
- A copy of the purchase contract.
- The dealer or distributor name.
- The installing contractor name.
- The installation address.
- Month and year of purchase and of installation.
- A description of the issue, including product description with lot or model number.
- The Product ID / Order number if applicable, requested on ProVia’s online complaint forms.
- Photos (optional on the online form, up to 5 files at 30 MB total; worth including).
Editorial tips — not required, but useful:
- Date-stamped photos taken at the time the issue appeared, from multiple angles, including the broader room so the problem is placed in context.
- A photo of each window’s NFRC label and ProVia product label before they are removed or weather off; these carry the lot and model numbers the claim form asks for.
- A single folder (physical or digital) in your home records that holds the signed contract, the installer’s workmanship warranty, the ProVia warranty certificate, the registration confirmation, product labels and any inspection notes.
For a broader view of what to collect at quote time so a claim later is possible at all, see What should a window replacement quote include? and the Window Quote Analyzer. Those are buyer tools, not claim tools.
Who to call, in what order
ProVia does not sell or install directly — it sells through independent dealers and contractors — and its published support flow reflects that. The consumer complaint policy lays out four steps:
- Read the warranty information for your product.
- Contact the contractor who installed it. Ask them to inspect and decide whether a claim should be filed.
- If the installer is not the dealer who sold the product, contact the place of purchase as well.
- If it is not handled to your satisfaction, contact ProVia through the contact page.
ProVia’s online router on the warranty page starts with the same question — “Have you contacted your place of purchase?” — and offers a “Find My Place of Purchase” form if you no longer know the dealer or the dealer is out of business. The practical order: start with whoever sold or installed the product; use ProVia’s own forms if that path fails or the company is gone. ProVia does not publish a committed response time; we do not quote one either.

FAQ
Does my ProVia warranty transfer when I sell the house?
On the cards that spell it out — the joint Aeris/Endure/Aspect vinyl card and the 8/25/26 entry-door card for Signet, Ascent and Legacy 20-gauge — the basic unit transfers once to the next owner for their personal residence, completed online within 30 days after ownership transfer. Hardware, insulated glass, breakage and finish terms are original-purchaser terms and do not transfer. ecoLite’s card is ambiguous and the 24-gauge/Vantage card has no transfer clause in its text; confirm with ProVia before relying on transfer for either.
My installer went out of business — now what?
Start with the place of purchase if that was a different company. ProVia’s warranty page has a “Find My Place of Purchase” form for cases where you no longer know the dealer. If that also fails, use the product router on provia.com/warranty. The product warranty is not voided by the installer going out of business, but the installer’s own workmanship warranty usually is.
What might I still have to pay for?
Labor to install the replacement part and transport from the nearest authorized dealer are on the purchaser on every card. Removal of the failed component, interior and exterior refinishing after the swap, and service-call travel are not addressed separately — ask the installer, in writing, how those are handled before work starts.
Is condensation covered?
No. Every card excludes condensation damage, and the window cards also name frost. A failed insulated-glass seal (moisture visible between the panes, not on the surface) is a different problem and is covered under the IG seal term on each card. See fog between window panes for the difference.
Is caulking covered?
No. The window cards say caulking is not part of the window or door and treat it as purchaser maintenance.
I own the home as a rental — do the same terms apply?
No. All cards shift to shorter, non-transferable non-residential terms for rental, multi-family and commercial use. The basic-unit term drops to 5 years on the lifetime cards and to 1 year on the 24-gauge steel and Vantage card, and most other terms shorten too.
