UpgradeWorth (“we,” “us”) operates https://upgradeworth.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you visit our site.
Information we collect
- Log and device data: IP address, browser type, referring pages, pages viewed, and approximate location derived from IP — typically collected automatically by our hosting provider and analytics tools.
- Cookies, web beacons and similar technologies: We and our third-party providers use cookies, web beacons (also called pixel tags or clear GIFs) and similar technologies for site function and analytics, and for advertising where we display ads, including through Google AdSense. Third parties, including Google, may place and read cookies on your browser and may use web beacons to collect information when you use this site.
- Information you send us: If you email contact@upgradeworth.com, we receive the content of your message and your email address.
How we use information
- Operate, secure, and improve the website
- Understand which topics are useful to readers
- Respond to inquiries
- Serve advertising, limit how often the same ad is shown, and measure advertising performance, including through Google AdSense and its advertising partners
Voluntary quote submissions
UpgradeWorth invites homeowners to submit anonymized details of window replacement quotes through our submission form. That form asks only about the project: state, approximate metro area, date, number of openings, product, installation scope, warranty terms and the total price. We do not ask for your name, address, phone number, email or any financial account information, and you should not include them anywhere in the form.
Submissions are stored privately and reviewed by a person before any use. We may edit or generalize details that could identify a household, and we may reject a submission entirely. Approved submissions may be used as anonymized case studies or within aggregated figures; when we publish aggregated figures we will show the sample size and state that the data is self-reported and not independently verified. We do not sell submissions and we do not share them with contractors, lead buyers or advertisers.
To limit automated abuse we derive a keyed identifier from the submitting device’s network address using a secret held on our server, keep it only in a short-lived temporary record used for rate limiting, and discard it after a few minutes. The network address itself is never written to the submission record or to our database, and no network identifier is stored alongside a submission. To have a submission removed, contact us with enough detail to identify it.
Advertising (including Google AdSense)
We may display ads through Google AdSense or similar networks. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services, opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings, and opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info.
Serving ads involves the collection and use of identifiers such as your IP address, cookie identifiers and device or browser information, together with web beacons embedded in ad content, so that ads can be delivered, limited in how often you see them, and measured. Where personalized advertising is used, those identifiers may also be used to select ads based on your interests and your prior browsing.
Your regional choices
EEA, UK and Switzerland. Where we serve ads to users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, consent for advertising and analytics cookies and for personalized advertising is requested through a Google-certified consent management platform before those technologies are used for advertising, and you can change or withdraw your choices at any time through the same consent message.
U.S. state privacy laws. If you live in a U.S. state with an applicable consumer privacy law, you may have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising, and to request access to or deletion of personal information we hold about you. You can exercise those choices through any privacy options presented on this site, through Google Ads Settings and aboutads.info, or by emailing contact@upgradeworth.com.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand traffic and engagement on this site. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects usage data, including your IP address, device and browser information, the pages you view and how you reached the site. Google processes that information as described in its own policies: see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. You can opt out of Google Analytics measurement across websites by installing Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Sharing of information
We do not sell personal information. We may share data with service providers and third-party vendors who help us host, analyze or advertise on the site — including Google, for the analytics and advertising purposes described above — and when required by law.
Data retention & security
We retain information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we take reasonable measures appropriate for a content website.
Children’s privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your choices
You can control cookies through your browser settings. For questions about this policy or to request deletion of information you emailed us, contact contact@upgradeworth.com.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do.
