How Much Do Pella Windows Cost? 250 vs Impervia vs Lifestyle vs Reserve, Installed Per Window

Updated October 6, 2026 by UpgradeWorth Editorial. Every dollar figure on this page is Pella’s own published installed-cost guidance, re-opened on that date and labelled as manufacturer guidance where it appears. How we research this

Pella does not publish a price for the 250 Series, Impervia, Lifestyle Series or Reserve. What it does publish is a typical installed cost per window for each frame material: vinyl, fiberglass and wood. So the honest answer to “how much does a Pella window cost” has two parts. First, find the material range Pella gives for your line. Then work out which parts of your quote push it to the bottom, the middle or past the top of that range. This page does both, line by line.

Which Pella page you need: this page compares installed cost across Pella lines and tells you how to check a Pella quote against Pella’s own numbers. Where each line sits and how the warranties are structured is on our Pella brand overview. Specs live on each product page. To read one line’s proposal field by field, use the Impervia, Encompass or Reserve quote decoder. Warranty terms: Pella window warranty decoder.

What Pella actually publishes about cost

Pella’s 2026 replacement window cost guide gives one installed range per frame material. Pella describes these as general national averages for professionally installed residential replacement windows, covering both the window and its installation, and says your own project may come in higher or lower.

Three things about these numbers matter before you use them. They are set by material, not by product line, so Lifestyle and Reserve share one wood range even though Pella itself says Reserve usually costs more. The wood range has no stated ceiling: Pella writes it as $2,200 and up. And they are installed figures. Pella’s online shop shows product-only prices, and Pella states that an online order arrives as product only, with installation not included, so an online price and an installed quote are not the same kind of number.

Sales channel and relative cost statements: Pella’s Impervia, Lifestyle Series and Reserve Traditional shop pages. All opened October 6, 2026. Nothing in this table is a dealer price.

The pattern the table makes visible: inside Pella’s own guidance, the jump from vinyl to fiberglass moves both ends of the range up, but the jump from fiberglass to wood mostly removes the ceiling. That open “+” is where Reserve, special shapes and heavy customization land, and it is the part of a wood quote Pella’s numbers cannot check for you.

Why two quotes for the same Pella line land far apart

Pella’s guides name the variables that move an installed price. Each one is also a line a contractor should write down, which is what makes two quotes comparable.

VariableWhat Pella’s guidance saysWhat to ask the contractor to write down
Window styleSingle- and double-hung tend toward the lower end of the ranges. Casement, awning and sliding often cost more because of added hardware and design complexity. Bay, bow and multi-window assemblies generally sit at the higher end. Still deciding between the two most common styles? Our casement vs double-hung windows comparison explains how each one opens and which rooms suit itThe style of each opening, not just a window count
SizeLarger or non-standard openings raise vinyl cost; custom sizing and unique shapes raise wood costUnit size or rough opening per line item
GlassEnhanced energy-efficient glass packages and climate-specific upgrades raise costThe glass package name per unit and the NFRC values for it
Hardware, finish, speciesUpgraded hardware, finish selections and interior species move price within a materialEach option itemized, not folded into a single unit price
Installation methodFull-frame replacement generally costs more than insert. Pella’s whole-house guide says full-frame in older homes can raise costs by 20% to 30% compared with a standard insert installationInsert or full-frame for every opening. Unsure which you need? Scope at the edgesQuotes typically include labor, removal of the old windows and installation, but finish work, repairs and permits varyInterior trim, exterior capping, disposal, permits and any rot-repair allowance, each stated
PhasingReplacing in phases can cost more over time through repeated setup (mobilization) fees and material price increasesWhether the per-window price holds if you split the job

Pella’s own whole-house ranges

Pella also publishes project-level ranges for standard windows. They are its per-window material ranges multiplied out by window count, so they run from all-vinyl at the bottom to wood with no ceiling at the top.

Project scope (Pella’s categories)Typical installed range, standard windows (Pella manufacturer guidance)
Small project, 8 to 10 windows$6,400 to $22,000+
Medium project, 12 to 15 windows$9,600 to $33,000+
Large project, 18 to 25+ windows$14,400 to $55,000+

Source: Pella, “How Much Does It Cost to Replace All the Windows in a House?” (updated August 4, 2026), opened October 6, 2026. Pella’s own disclaimer: these are planning examples, not quotes. The same page puts a standard single-story home (8 to 15 windows) at $4,500 to $27,000 and a two-story home (15 to 25 or more windows) at $9,000 to $45,000+.

A range that wide cannot tell you whether one quote is right. What it can do is catch a category error: a twelve-window 250 Series quote priced like a wood project, or a Reserve quote priced like vinyl, deserves a line-by-line read before anything else.

The Pella quote decision flow

Work through these in order. Each step either clears the quote to the next one or tells you which question to send back to the contractor.

1Does the quote name the exact Pella line (and the Reserve collection, if Reserve)?Ask for it in writing. “Pella vinyl” could be 250 Series or Encompass, and they are different productsThe row for your line in the table above
2Is it an installed quote, not a product-only price?A product-only figure cannot be compared with Pella’s installed ranges. Add a separate installation quote firstStep 3 once you have an installed number
3Does it say insert or full-frame for every opening?Ask. Pella’s own guidance treats this as one of the biggest swings in priceInsert vs full-frame tool

5Does the standard-window cost per opening fall inside Pella’s range for that material?Above the range: look for full-frame, upgraded glass, casements, multi-story access or scope extras before assuming overcharging. Before you compare any Pella quote

  1. Line and collection. The product line by its Pella name, and the Reserve collection where it applies.
  2. Opening schedule. Each opening with style, size and quantity, so standard and specialty units can be priced apart.
  3. Glass. The glass package per unit, with the NFRC values printed on the quote or label.
  4. Options. Finish, color, interior species, hardware and grilles itemized instead of hidden in the unit price.
  5. Method. Insert or full-frame per opening, and who does the work: a Pella showroom crew, an independent contractor, or you with a product-only order.
  6. Edges of scope. Interior trim, exterior capping, disposal, permits and repair allowances, each stated as included or excluded.
  7. Paper. Which Pella warranty document applies and what installation warranty the installer gives.

Both quotes must name the same line before the per-unit numbers can be compared. For the Impervia line, see the Impervia review.

Its 2026 cost guide places single- and double-hung at the lower end of each range and names casement, awning, sliding, bay and bow units at the higher end.

Who installs: a Pella showroom crew, an independent Pella dealer or product-only (self-install).Pella’s whole-house guide names full-frame in older homes as a 20% to 30% cost add compared with a standard insert installation. Pella also states that an online order is product only, with installation not included.
Removal and disposalTear-out of the existing window stated explicitly, who hauls the debris, whether permits are included or excluded (and who files them), and interior and exterior patching after removal.Pella’s 2026 cost guide says a typical installed quote includes labor, removal of the old windows and installation, but notes that interior trim repair, exterior patching, permits and rot-repair allowances vary. Each must be named line by line.
Finishes, species, hardwareInterior wood species and factory finish (or unfinished for painting on site), exterior frame color (single or dual color), hardware finish and grille profile — including whether grilles are between the glass or applied.Pella’s cost-by-material guide calls upgraded hardware, finish selections and interior species out as what moves price within a material. Pella’s wood guides name cladding color as a cost driver.
Warranty paperworkThe exact Pella warranty document that applies to the product on the quote (document code and effective date), plus the installer’s own installation warranty: duration, labor coverage and whether transferable.Pella publishes a separate warranty PDF per product family and lists them on its warranty support page. The Pella window warranty decoder reads the current documents side by side.

FAQ

How much does a Pella window cost installed?

Pella’s 2026 guidance puts a typical installed replacement window at $800 to $1,600 in vinyl (250 Series, Encompass), $1,100 to $2,200 in fiberglass (Impervia) and $1,100 to $2,200 or more in wood (Lifestyle, Reserve). Pella calls these general national averages; it does not publish a price for any individual line.

Is Pella Impervia more expensive than the 250 Series?

In Pella’s own guidance, yes at both ends: fiberglass runs $1,100 to $2,200 installed against $800 to $1,600 for vinyl. Your quote depends on style, size, glass and installation method, so compare the two on the same opening schedule.

Why do Pella Lifestyle and Reserve share the same price range?

Because Pella’s cost guidance is set by material, and both are wood. Pella separately says Reserve windows are tailor-made and usually more expensive than Lifestyle, which places Reserve toward the open-ended top of the wood range.

Are Pella’s online prices the same as an installed quote?

No. Pella states that a window ordered online arrives as product only, with installation not included. Compare installed quotes with Pella’s installed ranges, not with online product prices.

My Pella quote is above Pella’s range. Is it a bad quote?

Not necessarily. Pella says casement, awning and sliding styles, bay and bow units, larger or custom sizes, upgraded glass and full-frame installation all push price up. Check which of those your quote contains before judging it, then use the Window Quote Analyzer to price it per opening.

Is Encompass by Pella the same as the 250 Series?

No. Encompass by Pella and the 250 Series are two different vinyl lines; Pella names them separately on its shop pages and describes Encompass as competitively priced. A quote that reads only “Pella vinyl” must name which line before you can compare it to anything, because warranty documents and glass package options differ by line.

Does a Pella installed quote include tear-out and disposal of the old windows?

Usually yes for the removal itself. Pella’s 2026 cost guide says a typical installed quote includes labor, removal of the old windows and installation, but notes that interior trim repair, exterior patching, permits and rot-repair allowances vary. Ask for each to be stated as included or excluded on the line, not folded into one unit price.

How we researched this

On October 6, 2026 we re-opened Pella’s current replacement window cost guide, its cost-by-material guide and its whole-house cost guide, and took every dollar figure on this page from them. Line materials, sales channels and the relative cost of Reserve versus Lifestyle come from Pella’s own product and shop pages opened the same day. We did not use dealer price lists, forum or community prices, or contractor anecdotes as figures, we did not obtain quotes ourselves, and we do not convert Pella’s ranges into a verdict on any single quote.
